Health Services

School nursing is a specialized area of professional nursing that advances the well being, academic success, and life-long achievement of students. School nurses facilitate positive student responses to normal development, promote health and safety, intervene with actual and potential health problems, provide case management services, and actively collaborate with others to build student and family capacity for adaptation, self management, self advocacy and learning.

Parents are responsible for communicating information to their child's classroom teacher/office staff/school nurse regarding illnesses, accidents, medications, P.E. restrictions, contagious disease, treatments or other pertinent health information. Parents are also responsible for informing the school of any changes on the registered health and emergency information on file at their child's school.
