10/30/23 Principal Newsletter

Dear Parent and Student and Educator,

There are so many good things to celebrate at GHS. For highlights from the fall activities, see Mr. Bissen’s AD Weekly Email.  Additional building announcements are below.

October 30th, 31th and November 2nd, Seniors will be completing CPR training. We will have two sessions each day from 8am-10am and 10am-12pm. Reminder, check our Senior Document for senior info.

CPR is a graduation requirement from the State of Iowa. IWCC staff is on site this week providing training. Any student who wants a CPR card needs to pay the $10 before noon on Thursday. Students will not be able to get a CPR card after Thursday at noon. Some jobs require this, so please plan accordingly if you think you want one.

There are NO costumes to be worn at the high school on Tuesday, October 31st. Students wearing costumes, headcoverings, or masks will be asked to change.  

Nov. 8th, is picture retake day at GHS.

Nov. 10th, Veterans Day Activities:

8:00-9:00 am, Super Pancakes for Veterans and family/special guests (at Glenwood Middle School)

9:00-9:30 am, Veterans and guests arrive at the high school, greeted by student leaders in the cafeteria.

9:45–10:30 am, Assembly in the large gym; reception with cake and refreshments to follow for special guests.
