Dear Parent, Student, and Educator,
This week we have a full week for students and teachers, with an early out Wednesday.
Summer School Registration Now Open: REGISTER HERE! Informational Document.
Summer school is provided for credit recovery learning on failed outcomes.
This week we will be celebrating “Teacher & Staff Appreciation Week”!
Thank you to Jim Hughes Real Estate for providing a grill master’s lunch to our buildings last week! We encourage students and parents to send words of appreciation to teachers in email.
Students of the Week: The following students were recognized for their demonstration of our RAMS Values: Respect, Achieve and Improve, Make an Effort, and Serve Others!

It was a successful event filled with a lot of fun for students.
Congratulations to Mr. Bruce Landstrom for winning the Charles E. Lakin Outstanding Teacher Award! Thank you for your impact with students!
Senior Reminders:
This week during RAMS Time on Thursday, May 9th is Senior Decision Day. We will be celebrating senior plans after high school with cookies in the cafeteria and time for pictures.
Chromebook check-in will be on May 15th during the school day.
The last date for summative assessments for seniors is May 15th.
Seniors will receive their checkout sheets the morning of May 16th. They are not to interrupt classes but may get signatures before/after class or during their regularly scheduled class time.
The last date for reassessment is May 17th.
- If needing more time for up to 10 days reassessment or due to absences, coordinate with your teacher. Teachers last date is May 28th.
- If students are within 2 credits earned, they may walk at graduation and recover/reassess credits in summer school.
Baccalaureate is May 15th at 7pm in the Auditorium; Seniors Last Day is May 16th (all work must be completed prior to this date!); Graduation Practice on the 17th; Commencement is on the 19th at 2pm in our HS Gym. See our Senior Document for more info. Part of the Glenwood High School graduation requirement includes 20 hours of service. Here is the Service Learning Form. Turn the service form into the high school guidance office. Fines also need to be taken care of with the main office prior to senior sign out on the 16th. Students with unpaid fees will not be able to walk at graduation!
9-11th Grade, End of the Year Reminders:
- The latest date for summative assessments is May 22nd.
- 9-11th grade: The last day of school is May 24th, which is an early out
- Latest date for reassessment is May 28th (teacher last date). Students needing more time up to the 10 days of reassessment or due to absences the last two weeks of school will make arrangements with the building administration to reassess during summer school.
Glenwood HS Students competed in a welding competition with teacher Mr. Schubauer.
District Career Academic Planning: Our DCAP team has made plans for increased opportunities for student career learning and exploration. This will include visiting speakers throughout next school year. If you are interested in participating, contact Mrs. Duitsman.

Congratulations to Belle Glover for placing 2nd out of 366 submissions in this year’s Iowa Poetry Submission Contest and being selected for publication!
Congratulations to Abygale Luddington for her involvement as a state officer for FCCLA. Abby recently spoke at Nodaway Valley on traffic safety and wearing seatbelts. She has been invited to join the Governor’s Safety Bureau this June.
