  • Sunshine Meeting Canceled For Today
  • Boys basketball Pictures are in the office please stop by and pick up.
  • HOLLYWOOD ACTIVITY NIGHT
    • The Student Council will be hosting an activity night on November 10th from 7:00 - 8:30. The cost is $2 or 2 canned food items that will go toward the grade level competition.
  • We are excited to announce a grade level food drive competition. The grade level that wins will receive a reward! We will get feedback from students of that grade regarding which reward you would like! In addition, a box will be placed in Mr. Berke's classroom for 6th grade, Ms. Miller's classroom for 7th grade and Mr. Loftin's classroom for 8th grade. This competition will last 2 weeks starting today and ending on November 17th. See the attached flier for more details.

  Let's rally together and stock up the Mills County Food Pantry!

  • Congratulations to all of our students who auditioned for the Southwest Iowa Honor Band over the weekend.  We are very proud of your efforts and we had a great day.  Special congratulations go to these students who were accepted into the bands: 
    •  7th Grade - Skylar O., Makaya S., Andri N., Mattie T., Aubree F., Savannah A., Olivia P., Zach S., Griffin O., Grant Rl, Fallyn B. 
    •  8th Grade - Olivia F., Haley H., Cheyenne B., Harley V., Lane S., Alyssa P., Connor H., Aleigha P., Ethan F., Zoe F., Caleb K., Jenna W.  
  • These students will attend the SWIBA Honor Band Festival in Atlantic on Nov. 10. Great job Band!

 

  • Come out and support the Talented and Gifted students at their first VEX Robotics Competition on

Lynx Robotics - Battle in the Bluffs

Location:  Abraham Lincoln High School in Council Bluffs

FREE for all Glenwood Community School District families

  • Glenwood Community Middle School will be offering a strength and conditioning program starting Wednesday, November 8th for all students grades 6th through 8th.  The program will meet weekly from 6:45 a.m. to 7:45 a.m. on Wednesday and Friday’s.  There is no individual cost in participating in the program.  Permission Slips can be picked up in the Office.

 

  •   Picture retakes are on November 8th. Please sign up in the office if you need to get them retaken

 

  • Color Guard camp is November 11th. Pick up a form in the office if you are interested.  Please return form by November 7th

 

  • If you are using stars at the RamShack they must be on your hall pass or they will not be accepted 



Basketball Recap

The Glenwood 8th grade boys basketball teams competed at Atlantic last night, winning the A game 51-14. The A team was paced in scoring by Evan Stanislav with 14 points and Haze Stephens and Grady Bachman with 8 points each.  The B team was paced in scoring by Carter McDowell with 11 points and AJ Millar with 8. The boys will be back in action tonight at home in the middle school gym against Treynor.  Game starts at 4:15.

 

The Glenwood 7th grade boys basketball teams competed at Atlantic last night, winning the A game 66-44 and the B game 27-26.  The A team was paced in scoring by Bennett Grile with 18 points and Max Koehler with 15 points.  The defensive intensity shown by all teams was so much fun to watch and created many offensive opportunities. These kids are fun to watch fly around the gym and play some great unselfish basketball. The B team had a huge game winning 3 point shot by CJ Riley with only seconds remaining. The boys will be back in action tonight at Treynor.  Game starts at 4:00. Come watch these kids play. It is fun!!!!!
