 GCMS Announcements 

September 21, 2023

  • Little Rams cheerleading camp will be held on Friday October 6th. Camp forms are in the office. 

 

  • If you are using stars at the RamShack they must be on your hall pass or they will not be accepted 

 

  • If you want to join Mr Weber’s RAMS time you will need to fill out the google form that is linked on the RAMS time activities document.  You will need to fill out your name and grade level each week by the end of the day FRIDAY if you want to join his activity. An email will be sent out on Monday if you have been selected.
  • Please see Mr Starner’s email if you are interested in signing up for builder’s club. 
  • If you are a person that likes to be creative and have a passion for art, then GCMS Art Club is for you!  Art club will meet after school on the last Monday of every month and will require parent/guardian permission to participate.  
    • Please check your email from Mrs. Pontefract for sign ups
  • Please do not bring your chromebooks to lunch. They need to stay in your locker during that time.
  • TAG Robotics meet on Fridays from 3:30 - 4:30.
    • September meetings are September 1, 8, and 22.

 

  • A piece to an electronic device was turned into the office.
  • A pair of glasses was turned into the office. Describe to claim. 

 

 

Cross Country Results 

 

Congratulations to our MS boys who won the team competition at Creston on Tuesday night by scoring 34 points.

There were 6 boys in the top 20.

Football Results

The 8th Grade football team picked up their 1st win of the season with a 28-6 victory over Atlantic.  After an early Atlantic score, the Ram defense settled in and shut down the Trojan offense.  The Ram offense got on the board in the 1st and kept the ball rolling through the 3rd quarter.

Scoring Plays: 

  • D. Powles 9 yd. TD run, PAT run by H. Stephens (1st Qtr.)     

G-8 A-6

  • M. Yeager 10 yd. TD Pass Reception from Stephens, Powles PAT run good. (2nd Qtr)   

G-16  A- 6

  • Stephens 50 yd. TD run, PAT pass incomplete, no good. (2nd Qtr.)  

G-22 A-6

  • Stephens 49 yd. TD run, PAT pass incomplete, no good (3rd Qtr.) 

G-28 A-6

The Rams will travel to Denison this Thursday to take on the Monarchs.  Dismissal will be at 1:15 and a bus time of 1:30.

 

Volleyball Results

7th Volleyball

The 7th grade girls fought very hard at Red Oak last night. The A team won 2 sets to 1. They took the first set 25-16 and lost the second 16-25. They came back and dominated in the 3rd set winning 15-7. Tressa Duran led the team with 14 while Aubree Faust had 6. Kendall Crouch and Brie Windle both had over 10 digs for the A game.

 

The B team battled hard, but ultimately came up short losing 2 sets to 1. The first set was a close one losing 21-25. The second set the girls came back and won 21-17, The third set was another close one that ended 11-15. Makayla Stemick led the team with 3 kills. Danika Dooley and Ellie Sneed both had over 10 digs in the games as well. The girls will be back in action this Thursday at home vs Atlantic.

 

8th Volleyball

The 8th grade A and B teams went to Red Oak last night!  The A team won all 3 sets while the B team went 1-2 in sets. Even though there was no school the girls were ready.   They  played smart and aggressive and we are proud of their effort! 

The A Team had a total of 16 aces and was led by Malynn J. with 7, while Ava G. pitched in 5 more to lead the team.  We ended the night with 22 kills, led by Jennalyne W. with 9 and Ava H.  added 5 more! Jacie K. was a digging machine with a team high 6, while Ahna G. had 12 assists to set up our hitters!  

 

The B team came out and played very hard and were hustlers!  As a team they had 11 aces and were led by Peyton S. with 4, and Abby C. with 3.  The team had a total of 9 kills and were led by Sophie R. with 4!  The girls played aggressively and did a great job of keeping the ball in play. 

The 8th grade girls have their next game today at GMS against Atlantic!
