Rams vs. Lewis Central Titans (Hawkeye 10 Conference)
The Rams took on the undefeated Lewis Central Titans in a tough battle last night. The game was a defensive showdown, with both teams showing grit.
The Titans struck first, taking a 6-0 lead after dominating possession for most of the 1st quarter. The Rams responded in the 2nd quarter with a long drive capped by J. Leick's 12-yard touchdown run. The score was tied 6-6 at halftime, thanks to a crucial defensive stand by the Rams just before the break.
In the 3rd quarter, J. Leick broke free for a 53-yard touchdown run, giving the Rams a 12-6 lead. A well-placed kick by R. Gonzales pinned the Titans deep, and the Rams defense capitalized by forcing a turnover. T. Buthe added another touchdown, extending the lead to 18-6.
The Rams defense held strong in the 4th quarter, stopping several deep passes to seal the victory. Final score: Rams 18, Titans 6.
In the B game, the Rams overcame early mistakes with a 38-yard touchdown pass from M. Yeager to M. Kendrick, followed by a successful two-point conversion. The defense shut down the Titans for the rest of the game, securing an 8-6 win.
Both A and B teams now stand at 4-1 and will host the Creston Panthers in the season finale next Thursday.
