  • SSC will not be meeting today. Our next Sunshine Committee meeting will be next Tuesday after school till 4:15pm. 
  • 7th Graders are encouraged to wear PINK for their Mix it up day this Thursday.
  • 8th Grade B team basketball will be practicing Wednesday morning at 6am. Please use the art room entrance

 

  • Students:  The Winter Raffle Challenge has begun.  For each week you are in school all 5 days, you can earn a raffle ticket.  And, if you are in school for 14 out of the next 15 school days, you can earn another raffle ticket.  You will also be able to cash in 5 stars for a raffle ticket in a few weeks.

 

  • TAG Students participated in the Lynx Robotics - Battle in the Bluffs at Abraham Lincoln High School in Council Bluffs.  
  • We had 19 talented and gifted students participate on five teams.  
  • Two teams made it to the Quarterfinals.  
  • Team One was called "The Robo-Rams."  Teammates included Alex Peters, Bella Neal, Connor Gregory, Carter Blezek, and Michaela Burke.  
  • Team Two was called "The Burgers."  Teammates consisted of Grant Sorensen, Cannon Crane, and Zackary Bohnstengel.

 

  • "The Robo-Rams," made it to the Semifinals. They rank 215th place worldwide for their Virtual Robot Skills!  This really is a huge accomplishment!
  • We are scheduled to compete in two more local robotics tournaments in January!

 

  • 7th Grade Basketball boys, there is a game scheduled on Monday, December 4th against Lewis Central that wasn't on the schedule handed out at the beginning of the season. 

 

  • Glenwood Community Middle School will be offering a strength and conditioning program for all students grades 6th through 8th.  The program will meet weekly from 6:45 a.m. to 7:45 a.m. on Wednesday and Friday’s.  There is no individual cost in participating in the program.  Permission Slips can be picked up in the Office.

  

Basketball Updates

  • The 8th grade boys basketball team competed hard against Shenandoah last night and came away with victories in both the A and B games.  The A team won 37-34 while the B team capped off the night with a 34-21 victory.  The A team will be back in action tonight against Red Oak.
