The 8th Grade football team came up on the short end of their season opener vs. Clarinda last Thursday.   The Rams dug themselves into a hole trailing 18-0 at the half after three big plays by the Cardinal offense.  Outside those three plays, the Ram defense held the Clarinda offense in check for the majority of the first half.

The Rams would score early in the second half on a 15 yard touchdown pass from Stephens to Stanislav.  A Powles PAT two-point conversion run would make the score 8-18 early in the third quarter.  That would end the scoring in the game as the Ram defense tightened up and held the Cardinal offense scoreless in the second half.  The Ram Offense was able to move the ball better in the second half with receptions from Christiensen and big runs from Powles along with some improved line play, however the Rams struggled to sustain a drive and put the ball in the endzone.

The B team ended in a 0-0 tie.  With the help of the offensive line, Millar and Talcott had a good day running the ball, but neither were able to get the ball in the end zone as each drive fizzled out inside the 10 yard line

The Defense continued their tight grip on the Cardinal offense as they were unable to move the ball consistently as the Ram defense controlled the line of scrimmage.

The Rams will travel to Atlantic this Thursday to take on the Trojans in the historical and newly remodeled Trojan Bowl.
