Student Bulletin 9/19/24

9/17- Harlan Game @ Home

The 7th Grade girls played some good games against Harlan. In the first match the A team girls played extremely well winning all 3 of the sets. This win had a lot to do with the girls having 19 aces! Alaina Hargens led the way with 7 aces, while Emery Bickle had 4. Kendall Hough and Rylee Hutchings led the team in kills with Kendall having 7 and Rylee having 4.

The B team girls were in a bit tougher of a game. They lost the first 2 sets, but came back and finished strong, dominating the last set 15-2. This team also put together a high number of aces with a total of 19! Rosie Smith led the way with 11 aces, while Lauren Lang added another 7 on top of that. The girls got better throughout the match and battled hard!

Lastly, the C team girls played very well. They served well for the first game with Aniyah Calloway having 5 aces and Aliyah Hippolyte having 3. With these two girls serving and the team playing well, they went onto win all three of their sets to win the match 3-0. The girls will be back in action next week Monday at Red Oak.

9/17- Harlan Game @ Home

The 8th grade girls played Harlan.  A and B teams came away with the victories, while the C team won 1 set and lost the other two by 2 and 3 points.  The three teams compiled 71 aces, how awesome!

The A team beat the Cyclones, 25-8, 25-13, and 15-1.  Leading in kills was Jordyn S. with 6, while Greely C. added 3 and Aubree F with 2.  Serving was led by Greely C with 11 aces while serving 24 of 25 from behind the line.  Jordyn S also had 4 aces, while Bella N had 2.  Serving 100% on the night was Kendall C, Natalie C, and Jordyn S.

The B team beat the Cyclones 25-8, 25-8, and 15-3.  We had many great servers with 100% accuracy, they are Brooklynn C. Nadia S, Danika D, Andri N, Lily W, Jadyn W, and Skylar O.  Danika D and Nadia S also had 7 aces, while Haylee D added 4, and Emileigh P added 3.

The C team won 25-19, and lost 24-26 and 12-15.  Mackenzie D led the team with 11 aces, while Ariana H added 4, and Emily Z add 3.  Mackenzie D also was a 100% server going 15 for 15 behind the line. The next game for the 8th grade girls is on Monday at Red Oak.

• Open mat for wrestling will start on Sunday, September 22nd and continue through November 10th every Sunday from 5:00 - 6:00 P.M. at the wrestling building. Talk to Mr. Weber if you have any questions.

• PTA Trash Bag Fundraiser forms are in the office if you would like to pick one up.

• The MS Play/Drama production will be at the end of February. Auditions for the play will be held in December. Any 6th, 7th, or 8th grade student may audition for the play as long as they are in good academic standing. Rehearsals will begin in December and run up to the production date in February. Rehearsals will be after school. More information about auditions will be in the MS announcements at the end of November and early December. The play will be announced at audition time.
